What’s Happening This Weekend: 9/27/19-9/29/19

This is the final weekend of The Big E, formally known as The Eastern States Exposition, is billed as “New England’s Great State fair”. It is the largest agricultural event on the eastern seaboard and the sixth-largest fair in the nation. Each September, close to 1.5 million people travel to The Big E. The 17-day event provides a one of a kind tactile experience in which visitors can celebrate the season and to enjoy the sights, sounds and flavors of the region. The Treasure Trunk Flea Market & Family Fun Day is this Saturday from from 9am -3pm to benefit the Happy Hoofers 4-H Club of Fairfield County. Convert your crafts and treasures to cash! Activities include: touch-a-truck, kids crafts and games, police K-9 demo, music, famers market, Savers donation drive, food, and more! This is a free event open to the public. The address is 67 Stony Hill Rd, Bethel.

The Connecticut Antique Machinery Association’s 2019 Fall Festival is being held in Kent, CT this weekend. There will be: Operating Gas & Steam Exhibits ,Working Farm Equipment, Blacksmith Shop, Sawmill, Railroad
Mining Exhibits and of course food! The physical address for CAMA is 31 Kent-Cornwall Rd (Rt 7), Kent, CT. It is about a mile north of downtown. Look for Argent Lumber #4 steam locomotive at the entrance to the museum. Free parking is located in the lower field (slight left after crossing two sets of RR tracks). There is a free shuttle service from the parking lot to the main gate. Sunny weather with highs in the low 70’s is predicted for all 3 days!

The Fore ‘n’ Aft Benefit Concert will be held this Saturday at the Ives Concert Park in Danbury from 1pm-10pm. After the unbelievable success of the first Fore ‘n’ Aft Benefit Concert Festival last year, we are proud to bring back the entertainment extravaganza that, for one day only, once again reunites the bands and fans from the unforgettable years which helped pave the foundation for rock music and events in the region – that are still talked about to this day! Featuring live concerts, special guests, surprise appearances, food trucks, vendors and much more, all in our stunning open-air location! See our awesome lineup below!
