What’s Happening – 10/11/19-10/13/19

Brookfield Town Hall will host the Farmers Market on Friday and the Brookfield Lions Club Food Drive to help fill the Food Pantry will be held from 9-2 at the Senior Center.  Easy drop off!  Volunteers will be ready to unload your car for you.  The Still River Ecology Walk led by Jim Arrigoni, conservation biologist at the CT Audubon Society. will start at Town Hall at 1pm. Registration is required.

The Brookfield Boy Scout Troop 135 is selling wreaths and other holiday greenery as part of their annual fundraiser.  They will be at the Mobil Station, 818 Federal Rd, this Saturday from 9:00 am to 12:00.  

The YMCA is holding Kids Day Out with an afternoon filled with games, stories, free play, crafts, and more on Saturday from 12-3pm. Ages 3-10.

In Bridgewater, the Burnham Library is hosting “Discover Owls of New England”.  Peter Christoph’s presentation features stunning photographs of his favorite owls combined with stories that entertain, educate, and inspire.

The Hat City On Tap Craft Beer Festival is returning to the Danbury Arena this October 12th from 4-8pm or upgrade to VIP from 3-8pm. Sample over 120 releases from some of America’s best craft breweries! Decade, a Neil Young and other ’70s music tribute band, will be performing at Hat City on Tap and food will be served.

For all our planners out there, next weeks events include: last weekend of Brookfield Farmers Market, Harrybrooke Park’s Haunted Trail, Harwinton Halloween Festival, Danbury’s Fall Family Festival, Kids Kingdom 30 year anniversary celebration, and Out of the Darkness Brookfield Walk to fight suicide. 

The Brookfield Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce this year’s Best of Brookfield, which will take place on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at The Candlewood Inn, Brookfield from 4:30 – 7:30 pm. Discover what your local Brookfield Businesses have to offer.

Brookfield Day will be celebrated on Saturday, 10/19, with:

The Yankee Barn and Craft Sale from 8am-3pm

Open House at the Brookfield Craft Center from 12pm-5pm

2019 Health and Wellness Day for Cancer Survivors and Family Caregivers at Health Products For You from 11am-4pm

 The Brookfield Library is hosting family fun activities from 11am-1pm, a movie matinee at 2pm, and Goblins and Giggles: Stories for a Halloween Eve (ages 5 and up) from 5-6pm.

The Brookfield Theatre will be holding an Open House for their Spotlight Program for students age 8 to 15.
