The Brookfield Craft Center’s 44th Annual Holiday Sale will run through December 31.  Each year, an amazing mix of one-of-a-kind hand-crafted gifts – from holiday ornaments to woodcrafts, glass crafts and jewelry, to pottery, fiber works, and so much more are featured during this exceptional shopping event.
 
Find something unique for every person on your Holiday Shopping List this year at the Danbury Holiday Gift Expo …and don’t forget a gift for yourself! On December 1st from 9-3PM. Over 120 diverse vendors!  Parking is free and admission is just $5! A portion of the door proceeds will go directly to the American Cancer Society!
Located at the O’Neill Center of Danbury, there will be a concession stand open for you to purchase food/snacks/drinks!
 
The Newtown Holiday Craft Festival will take place in the gymnasium at the Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main St. (Rte. 25) in Newtown, CT on Sunday, December 1 from 11am to 5pm. This popular and long running event will provide a great holiday shopping opportunity. Free admission.
 
St Joseph Catholic Academy Christmas Extravaganza will be held on December 7th. Over 35 vendors including artisans, craftsman and entrepreneurs, Snack Shop with homemade baked goods, Straw Game for kids, beautifully decorated mini Christmas tree raffle, 50/50 raffle, Santa, elf, Mrs. Claus, Mrs. Claus’ bake shoppe.

 
Done with Shopping and looking for something to do?
 
On December 6th and 7th, join the 20th Annual Ridgefield Stroll. Considered one of the most-cherished of Ridgefield’s holiday celebrations complete with horse-drawn carriages, toy soldiers, strolling carolers, ice sculpting, magic shows, breakfast with Santa, elegant shopping with specialized customer service & gift-wrapping, festivities and treats at local shops. A true Norman Rockwell moment! Dancers will be on display in the window of the Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance dressed in costumes from their performance of The Nutcracker.

Ring in the Holiday Season with the Brookfield Girl Scouts at their Annual Holiday Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 7th at the Brookfield Town Hall. The festivities begin at 5:00 p.m. sharp and include caroling, refreshments & Santa. Bring the family and your best caroling voice to join in the fun!
 
‘Tis the Season as CityCenter Danbury celebrates Light the Lights, its annual Holiday Gathering to welcome Santa. The fun-filled event features a firetruck parade, carolers, and the Honorable Mayor Mark Boughton leading a countdown to Light the Lights and Santa’s arrival by fire engine. It’s all FREE and children of all ages are invited.
 
On December 8th enjoy the 34th Annual Holiday Festival on Main Street in Newtown. Watch the area transform into a Frozen Winter Wonderland for all ages to enjoy. Holiday Festival Events & Activities Include: Festival of Trees (Sat. Dec. 7 & Sun. Dec 8) Holiday House Tours Edible Creations Display & Competition (More than just gingerbread!) Historic Trolley Tours Holiday Tea The Nutcracker Suite Ballet There’s also plenty of activities for the kids!

Brookfield’s own Bock & Blu are a ten-piece band led by Steely Dan arranger Gary Blu featuring Barbara Bock on vocals.  Join them and other guests along with the Brookfield High School Band, the Brookfield High School Chorus, the Whisconier Middle School Band, the Whisconier Middle School Chorus, and the Huckleberry Hill 4th Grade Chorus on December 13th, for an evening of inspiring music and holiday cheer!

On Friday, December 13th, the 6th Annual Sip & Stroll event will be located in the New Milford downtown area.  There will be some sipping, shopping and strolling.

Kids Night Out and Gingerbread Hunt at the YMCA. Enjoy the night out while your kids have their own fun making Santa hats, decoration gingerbread cookies, and having a Gingerbread Hunt. Diner and a snack are provided. Must be potty trained. December 6th and Registration is required.
 
MOMS Club of New Milford, in conjunction with Harrybrooke Park, are proud to announce the First Annual Candy Cane Hunt on Saturday, December 7th from 11 am – 2 pm. Every participating child will receive a Passport to The North Pole! This fun event will give children the opportunity to participate in a holiday themed hunt for hidden candy canes, complete sponsored kid-friendly activities with the chance to win the GRAND PRIZE, the opportunity to meet and snap a photo with Santa and more!

Join Chick-fil-A Brookfield for their annual Letters to Santa event on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. Come in for dinner and they will have stationary for your children to craft their letter to Santa. At 5:45pm the local UPS Truck will arrive for your child to place their letter in, and the Brookfield Police Department will ensure it makes it the North Pole with a special police escort! We also heard that Santa will be answering each letter personally! Plus Twisty Bros will be there twisting balloon art sure to make the event festive and we will be sampling our seasonal Peppermint Milkshake!


 
Looking to Give Back?

Cornell Memorial & Brookfield Funeral Home Toy Drive-
Now through December 4

The Cornell Memorial Home in Danbury, the Brookfield Funeral Home, and the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association are holding an ongoing toy drive. Toys and gift cards are being collected for Connecticut National Guard’s Operation Elf, and the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Donations can be dropped off at the collection box at the Cornell Memorial Home on White Street in Danbury.

Brookfield Police Dept. Stuff A Cruiser Toy Drive-
Sat. Dec. 14th 10 AM to 4 PM

Our location has changed, but our mission has not!
It’s the 5th annual Stuff A Cruiser toy drive happening in the Kohl’s/Five Guys parking lot on Federal Road. Toys and games for children from toddlers to adolescence will be collected and will be personally delivered to the children at Yale New Haven Hospital the following week.  Additionally, we have once again partnered with our friends at KICKS 105.5, Candlewood Coffee, Chick-fil-A Brookfield and Urban Street Pizza.  That means we will have great music, great coffee, and great food the entire day! RAIN, SNOW, or SHINE!
Not sure if you will be able to make it? Don’t worry, you can drop your new and unwrapped toy off at Brookfield Police Headquarters (63 Silvermine Road) anytime! They will have a box set up in their lobby!
