Brookfield Youth Community Helpers

TownAppeal is excited to introduce you to a new Facebook Group! Brookfield Youth Community Helpers was created by Brookfield residents Aprille Coutts and Kristie Perry to help middle school and high school students find work!  The private group is open to Brookfield residents only.  Residents and businesses can post jobs they need help with.  Currently, job opportunities include outdoor work, restaurant busser, media support, and taking pictures of used items to sell online.

Kristie recently posted “For this group to be successful we need residents to share with each other… so please share the group!  We also need jobs for these kids…And we need kids who want to earn $ -parents please make a post if your child has specific skills or interests and we will try to match them with a member! Please share this page with fellow Brookfield residents who may need a hand and also for those residents who have kids who would like to accept jobs!” Please click here to join this group!

Aprille states “We want to teach these students the value of earning, advocating for themselves, time management and knowing worth. Our goal is for this to be an opportunity for residents and students to accomplish tasks and for students to earn and learn.”

We discussed the benefits of this community project.  Aprille told TownAppeal “having a job helps instill money management skills, responsibility and accountability. It will give our youth the ability to save and feel pride in their work.  This project  empowers students and strengthens communities.” Kristie stated “this project will teach students self worth, how to advocate for themselves, and learn to be goal driven.”
