Throughout her career, community involvement has always been important to Bobbi Jo Beers. Many people know Bobbi Jo from her role as the former director of Bethel’s Chamber of Commerce. In that position, she coached small businesses, planned events and spent a lot of time working in the community. She also works with middle and high school students at the Youth Entrepreneur Academy.
Her next career move occurred when she found a franchise-based business where giving back was a priority. She found it in the Traveling Chic Boutique (TCB) and decided to give it a try. “The Traveling Chic Boutique was everything I was looking for. I always wanted to own my own gift shop and be my own boss”.
One day she was driving by Town Center and realized that this would be the perfect location for her shop. Although it had been a part time venture up until this point, Bobbi Jo felt she had to “practice what I preached” as a small business coach and launched her business full-time. And she loves it! “I love the people, the community and the town have been very supportive.”
What makes her shop unique? Actually, a lot of things. First, inventory is re-stocked on a weekly basis with recognizable, yet hard-to-find designer dresses, tops, skirts and more. In addition to clothing and accessories from your favorite designers, TCB also carries many local items, such as jewelry, chocolate and candles.
Then there is also the mobile aspect of her business. “Lucy”, her Airstream Boutique, is always ready to roll to host trunk shows, pop-up shops, or a Girls Night Out.
Through TCB, Bobbi Jo continues to give back to the community. She invites local organizations to host fund-raisers at her store for friends and family to shop, and 15% of the proceeds are donated back to that group. This month she is helping the Brookfield High School Cheerleaders. She also has Giving Jars in the store where she collects funds to distribute to different charities each month.
So stop by and visit a store that captures the feel of the new Brookfield Four Corners area and tell Bobbi Jo that we sent you!
