November Art Exhibit at Brookfield Library – “Watercolor Delights”
The latest exhibit at The Brookfield Library Art Gallery runs from October 31 – December 1 with work by area artist, Bivenne Harvey Staiger. A reception for the artist is scheduled for Sunday, November 10, from 4:00 – 6:00 pm, in the library’s community room, with refreshments. Ms. Staiger is a Watercolorist and Instructor. Her focus of late is frequently centered on depicting wildlife, particularly birds in this region. She finds watercolor is the “perfect, most exciting medium for this”. “Like a bird in sudden flight, it is ideal for quick spontaneity or practical for careful study when tiny details are needed” she says. Bivenne’s work will be featured in the publication Watercolor Artist at the end of November. She has won numerous awards, including Best in Show multiple times in exhibits throughout Connecticut and in New York City.
The Brookfield Library Art Gallery will be open for dedicated viewing of this exhibit on Mondays from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm, in November and whenever there is not a program in session.
“We are pleased to have work of Bivenne’s caliber at our gallery. Her realistic outdoor scenes are cleverly selected and her admiration for nature is obvious in her work. Visitors will enjoy her large canvases and use of color and will be familiar with her subjects. Her work will be on display through November. Be sure to stop in to the library and head for the gallery in the community room. Don’t miss this show!” said Library Director Yvonne Cech.
