Hidden Valley Preserve in Washington is a great place for a hike. Some highlights of this property include the Thoreau suspension bridge, a walking path along the Shepaug River, the Quartz Mine; which is pretty cool, the Lookout, and the Pinnacle.

Hopkins Winery by Lake Waramaug is a lovely place to extend the fun, with outdoor seating by their pond, interesting sculptures, and pretty views. If you have not visited either of these locations yet, I would highly recommend it!
